HEY, DIDN'T YOU KNOW THAT . . . "Florida is in the forefront among the states in finding procedures, standards and technology to help every citizen vote and to make every vote count." It must be true because a John Ellis Bush apointed committee told us so. 9:47 AM [Go to current Florida Politics site (no popup ads)]

CHANGE IN DEM LEADERSHIP TODAY. Maddox to replace Poe today as head of the state party. Will he use the postition to prop uphimself, as some suggest, or will he focus on rebuilding the party? An early test will be what the party does does in the Orlando mayoral race. The Repubs are going all out after Dyer in the nonpartisan race. How will Maddox respond? 9:43 AM [Go to current Florida Politics site (no popup ads)]

DELUSIONS OF PRESIDENCY. John Ellis Bush did not serve in Vietnam. Bush nevertheless took a gratuitous photo op with troops leaving for active duty. Although he did not go so far as to don a helmet and flak jacket - his flaks no doubt considered the possibility of his doing so - Bush wanted us to know that he was the "commander-in-chief of the Florida National Guard". One can only hope he will not visit the troops overseas or otherwise defile with self-serving politics the service of these brave men and women. 9:38 AM [Go to current Florida Politics site (no popup ads)]
