WHY DIDN'T GOV BUSH GO TO HIS BROTHER FOR HELP ON THIS? INSTEAD HE GOES ON A CRUIISE "Unemployment benefits -- sometimes the only thing between jobless workers and disaster -- end for more than 38,000 Floridians on Saturday." Florida jobless to see benefits run out", in the Orlando Sentinel. 6:19 AM [Go to current Florida Politics site (no popup ads)]
MORE POLITICIANS LIKE THIS NEEDED. "A fitting award for Bob Milligan", an editorial in the Tallahassee Democrat. Remember when Milligan said he liked McBride for Governor? 6:16 AM [Go to current Florida Politics site (no popup ads)]
CAPTAINS COURAGEOUS. JOHN ELLIS "UNDETERRED." John Ellis Bush "has said he was undeterred by the outbreak that sickened hundreds", and has proceeded to.brave the perils of the Disney cruise ship. There will be no special food for the Governor, as Disney "expected the Bushes to eat in the main dining room with the other passengers" and otherwise cavort with mere mortals.
Although "The Bush clan, it is claimed, will not be enjoying any special privileges", we wonder if it normal to delay the departure of the massive cruise ship for at least an hour so the late arriving Jenna and Barb could make it aboard?
(We recognizre we have posted the "captains courageous" cheap shot before, but the media keeps running the story about courage of the Bush's going on a cruise ship as if they were going to storm the beaches of Normandy). 6:16 AM

NOW THAT'S A CONUNDRUM. As the number of Floridians with medical insurance declines, residents are prosecuted for not taking their kids to the dentist. A mother who was "ordered to take her children to a dentist twice a year" had her conviction reversed. 6:13 AM [Go to current Florida Politics site (no popup ads)]

WE LOVE IT WHEN POLITICIANS GET MAD ABOUT LOSING. "A bipartisan pair of sore losers are hounding a newly elected Martin County commissioner with a lawsuit that seems to have harassment as its sole goal." [Palm Beach Post editorial.] 5:52 AM [Go to current Florida Politics site (no popup ads)]
SHE'S ALREADY PUT FLORIDA ON THE MAP. "'She'll put Sarasota on the map,'' said Tramm Hudson, head of the Sarasota Republican Party and a longtime friend' of Katherine Harris in "2000 notoriety gives Harris high profile in Congress." 5:46 AM [Go to current Florida Politics site (no popup ads)]
OFF TOPIC. "Disco redux: South Florida roots music gains respect". We don't care what they say, disco still sucks. 5:43 AM [Go to current Florida Politics site (no popup ads)]
IT'S STILL THE ECONOMY, STUPID. "Florida's economy is expected to make a slow recovery in 2003, though economists offer one major caveat that could throw everything off: whether the nation goes to war with Iraq." [AP Wire.] 5:32 AM [Go to current Florida Politics site (no popup ads)]
"OPERATION FLORIDA". The United Kingdom's Guardian has a little fun at the expense of John Ellis Bush and "W". 5:28 AM [Go to current Florida Politics site (no popup ads)]
